How we handle your family's information.

Sun Debate Academy is a private debate coaching business run by James Sun in Bellevue, Washington. This policy explains what information we collect through this website, how we use it and the choices you have. Email questions to jamessun042110@gmail.com.

What we collect

We only collect information you choose to send us. Through the consultation form, that’s:

• Parent or guardian name
• Email address and, if you provide it, phone number
• Your student's first name, grade and debate experience
• Anything you write about your student's goals

If you email us directly, we also receive whatever your email contains.

What this website does not do

This website doesn’t use cookies, advertising trackers or social media pixels, and we don’t sell or rent personal information to anyone.

How we use it

We use your information to respond to your consultation request, schedule a time to talk and, if your student starts lessons, to stay in touch about coaching. We don’t use it for advertising or share it for anyone else's marketing.

Who else handles it

• Formspree (formspree.io) receives consultation form submissions, emails them to us and keeps a copy in our Formspree account.
• Google hosts our email (Gmail), where consultation requests and messages are stored.
• Google Fonts supplies this website's typeface. When a page loads, your browser requests the font from Google, which receives your IP address and basic browser information.
• Cloudflare hosts this website. Its Web Analytics counts visits and measures page speed without cookies and without identifying individual visitors, and Cloudflare keeps standard server logs, such as IP addresses and pages requested, to operate and secure the site.

Each of these services handles data under its own privacy policy. We may also disclose information if the law requires it.

Children's privacy

The consultation form is for parents and guardians. We don’t knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13. If you believe a child has sent us information, email us and we’ll delete it.

Student results and ratings

Student names, results, photos and testimonials appear on this site only with permission from the student's family. The Washington debate ratings chart is calculated from publicly posted tournament results and shows only initials and school. To have a student removed from the chart, email us.

How long we keep it

If a consultation doesn’t lead to lessons, we delete the request, including Formspree’s copy, within 12 months. For current students, we keep contact information while coaching continues and delete it within 12 months after coaching ends, unless you ask us to delete it sooner.

Your choices

You can ask us to show you, correct or delete the information we have about you or your student by emailing jamessun042110@gmail.com. We’ll respond within 30 days.

Security

We take reasonable steps to protect the information you send us, but no website or email service is completely secure.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we’ll post the new version here and update the effective date above.
